First Elevated Picnic a hit

The First Annual Elevated Picnic on the MCR Bridge over Kettle Creek attracted 105 visitors ranging in age from two to 90.

Comments during the afternoon event were overwhelmingly positive as residents and visitors got an opportunity to see the view from the bridge, some 95 feet over the valley below.  Although the site is still rough and industrial, just as it was left when rails were removed about eight years ago,  picnickers enjoyed an Elevated Boxed Lunch prepared by James Meadows Catering, sitting under tents and market umbrellas erected just for the day.

While the primary purpose of the  event was to generate excitement and give people a sneak peek of the views, On Track was able to generate over $1,000 in proceeds which will be used to cover maintenance and insurance costs.

Some families got into the spirit of the Elevated Picnic by staking out a piece of the 85 year old structure for their own private get together
